maker studios - storytime with the fat jew
Storytime with The Fat Jew was a perfect example of “make it just to make it”. One day at TMWRK studios in Los Angeles, we put a camera on The Fat Jew, sitting on a folding chair in front of a green screen, and said, “tell us a story”. We took that audio and The Fat Jew’s reel as a baseline for animation, and we hired some up and coming animators to bring each story to life.
The pilot was sold to Maker Studios and the series would eventually be released in 10 episodes. It would inspire networks like Vice, MTV and OK Player to nearly identically copy the concept, having outrageous celebrity stories animated for hyperbole.
